Ryan Searle Age: 25 Home Town: Idaho Falls, ID Occupation: Web Developer
Favorite Riding Areas: Island Park, ID and surrounding areas.
Current Sled: 2005 Polaris 900 RMK – with Precision Performance Can, Custom Paint Job (added another 10hp) and big wheel kit. Of course tuned to my liking.
Favorite Sled: This one is tough, I would have to say my 9, but the sled that I think is the most fun to ride was the M7. I needed more power.
Favorite Style of Riding: You name it I enjoy it. However my most enjoyable time is of course riding in deep powder boondocking thru the trees. I also really enjoy climbing extremely technical hills usually covered by trees as well. Riding in the trees is where it is at, doesn’t matter what kind of day it is sunshine or blizzard, you can always ride in the trees.
Getting Started: I have pictures of me riding sleds with my father when I was only a baby. I can remember the first sled I was able to start was a 1985 Arctic Cat Pantera 440. The first sled I wrecked 1992 Arctic Cat Prowler…my mom’s sled of course. She hadn’t even had a chance to ride it yet. First sled I totaled out for insurance was a 1995 EXT Powder Special 580. The sled I learned how to actually ride was a 1998 Powder Special 600. During that time was was trying to keep up with friends and family that were riding bigger and better sleds, RMK 700 and a few years later 800’s while I stayed on the 600. I learned how picking the right line allowed me to still go most of the places they went. Yes there were times when I was left behind, but those were far and few between as I learned the art of riding. I still enjoy jumping on a 600 every once in a while and keeping up with the big boys. Snowmobiling has always been in my life and will always be my life. My wife says she can tell if I haven’t gone for a while, so the summer is pretty miserable.
